b. tovsky

Bruce Tovsky began experimenting with tape recorders in grade school, recording his friends as they cracked each
other up. After abandoning piano for guitar, he built his first
synthesizer from a kit in high school, and started playing his
guitar through it. He studied painting and printmaking at
Herron School of Art in Indianapolis, where he began
integrating sound with visual works, and continued this
exploration in graduate school, earning his MFA in
multimedia from Rutgers University in 1979.
His current work now concentrates on solo and small ensemble improvised sound and video performances,
and releases limited edition CD and DVD works on his
Skeleton imprint.
